Contact
Casimir Geelhoed (NL, 1995) is a software developer, composer and music producer specialised in spatial sound. He has followed education in computer science, composition and music technology at the University of Amsterdam, the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and the Utrecht School of Arts.
Since 2015, he is one of the core developers of 4DSOUND. Besides that, he has worked as technical director of MONOM.
As HOEK, he released two EP's on Amsterdam-based imprint Fog Mountain Records. As Casimir, he featured in Posh Isolation’s compilation I Could Go Anywhere But Again I Go With You.
Recurring themes in Geelhoed's musical work are a focus on introspection, anxiety, transiency and fragility. Geelhoed uses both his technical and musical abilities to craft an expressive and visceral sound language, valuing expressivity over technical perfection. Geelhoed has created dedicated performances for various festivals, including The Hague’s Rewire, Utrecht’s Le Guess Who? and Berlin's CTM Festival.
In addition to his solo work, Geelhoed co-hosts the radioshow Whitespace on Red Light Radio together with sound artist Anni Nöps, crafting transitory sonic landscapes out of contemporary noise, ambient and field recordings.
